The nice Guitar Rig software comes with detailed manuals that, however, do not include explicit references to actual gear due to license issues. This is a bit ridiculous, unless you like puzzles:
- “The AC Box models the sound that powered the British Invasion of pop music”
- “Modeled after an amp produced by a highly respected synthesizer manufacturer”
- “This amp, based on an American legend”…
Now if you want to emulate the sound of, say, My Bloody Valentine from the known actual rig (this is actually a tough example). Where do you get some equivalences? Well, in wikipedia surprisingly. I copy their info.

what is the analogue equivalence of resochord ??
Any idea for the Grain Delay ?
No idea, my friend. I didn’t even know what that Grain Delay, had to google it
iceverb = shimmer reverb ?
Yes, that sounds plausible. You mean, like this little fellow? Controls look quite similar http://www.thomann.de/es/mooer_shim_verb.htm
What about Stereo Tune man? I love that effect, but I can’t find out what pedal do exactly the same thing! thanks!
I don’t know, what’s stereo tune ??? Guitar rig is quite expansive, I have just scratched the tip of the iceberg
I think that one is Stereo Polychorus MK2 by EHX
Cool, I’ll add that one. And the shimverb that had been suggested a while ago

what about octaverb?
No idea, man. “The Octaverb is a powerful stereo reverb, precisely emulating the early acoustic reflections
of eight different rooms.”
Just to let you know I probably drop by this post a couple times a month… thank you so much! Just wanted to let you know GR6 Pro is out now…
Esto es oro. Gracias por tomarte el trabajo de publicarlo 🙏 Reconocía algunos pedales por sus colores pero nisiquiera sabía de la existencia de varios amplificadores🤔
Going on 9 years old and this was the only reference like this I was able to find. Thanks!
I see now the list of components has been deleted from the wikipedia page, due to copyright issues. So, yes, maybe there aren’t so many places where this list can be found!
